Epilogue

Almost 4 years ago, in February 2014, I was visiting my friend Danica in Kentucky, USA. It was late at night, we were joking about how Dog & Fries would sound like, and I wanted to play around with some art supplies I had bought for my comics. So I drew a couple pages from this little side-project I had from my freshman year of college. Once I got back home I colored those pages and thought they were fun, so I decided to give the comic another go. Just something I could draw on my off-time to distract myself from college work. That’s how Postcards in Braille started.

I never expected Postcards grow as much as it did. The response to this silly little comic was overwhelmingly positive, and for that I am really, really thankful. I wrote all of this comic for myself, and while it’s not strictly autobiographical there is a lot of myself in this story and characters, so I’m glad to see it resonate with so many of you. I always planned to end it here. This comic is a chapter of my characters’ lives, and it is also a chapter of mine. It makes sense to me. I said all I had to say, and now it’s time to move on to something new.

Thanks to everyone who read this comic and showed me their encouragement and support. Thanks to my patrons for the monetary support (you literally helped me buy the pens and paper for this!). Thanks to the comic friends I made while making this (special thanks to the Dark Twitter friends) for the yelling and laughter. Thanks to Rodrigo and Feña for making me realize that most of this comic happens behind the panels. Thanks to Danica for taking me to that Hot Topic where Dog & Fries happened – and for mailing me like 500 Dog stickers, and for being an amazing friend in general. Thanks to my pandilla for teaching me what it’s like to be a good friend, you inspired a big part of this even if you don’t know it.

WHAT’S NEXT? Right now I’m going to lay low for a bit to finish my MSc thesis, but after that I have some fun plans for 2018! Some of these include kickstarting a book for Postcards in Braille (I need this!!!), and starting my next webcomic project, Unlimited – if you liked Postcards there’s a big chance you’ll like this one too 🙂 you can follow me on Twitter to stay tuned to that.

Thank you so much for reading!! ♥
